Dispositivos e técnicas auxiliares e criativos para melhorar a previsibilidade dos tratamentos com Alinhadores estéticos.
Uma vez identificadas as limitações dos tratamentos com alinhadores, a conceituação de técnicas para melhorar a previsibilidade na produção dos resultados desejados foi o próximo passo lógico. Uma variedade de conceitos, métodos e dispositivos auxiliares foram subsequentemente introduzidos para aprimorar a eficácia e a eficiência de alinhadores. Como conseqüência, o escopo da biomecânica e o tipo de más oclusões que podem ser tratadas de maneira mais previsível aumentaram. Como um exemplo, a inclusão de ancoragem esquelética temporária de mini-parafuso permitiu a adição de ancoragem direta e indireta para apoiar e controlar movimentos dentários programados mais previsíveis com alinhadores.
 

Programação

Objetivos.
Ao concluir este seminário, o ortodontista:
1> Entenderá o objetivo e as vantagens de individualizar alinhadores e aplicar forças adjuvantes para aumentar a previsibilidade do tratamento.
2> Familiarizar-se-á com uma variedade de aplicações e usos para adjuvantes em alinhadores, como ancoragem de mini-parafusos, adição de botões / elásticos e instrumentos de aprimoramento.
3> Será capaz de preparar um protocolo para aprimorar o processo de planejamento de tratamento do alinhador para incorporar modificações individualizadas para cada paciente.
4> Aumentará as opções de indicação e a previsibilidade dos alinhadores.

  1. Dr. Bowman is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, a member of the Edward H. Angle Society of Orthodontists, a Fellow of both the International and the American College of Dentists, Fellow of the Pierre Fauchard Academy International Honor Organization, a charter member of the World Federation of Orthodontists and is a Regent of the American Association of Orthodontists Foundation. He developed and teaches the Straightwire course at The University of Michigan, is an Adjunct Associate Professor at Saint Louis University, an Assistant Clinical Professor at Case Western Reserve University, a Visiting Clinical Lecturer at Seton Hill University and Milton Sims Visiting Professor at the University of Adelaide. He received the Angle Research Award in 2000, the Alumni Merit Award from Saint Louis University in 2005, and the Orthodontic Education and Research Foundation Merit Award in 2017. He was 1 of 4 on the Invisalign Teen Research Team.

    Jay was a Guest Editor for Seminars in Orthodontics, Contributing Editor or on the Editorial Board for the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial OrthopedicsJournal of Clinical Orthodontics, Angle Orthodontist, Seminars in Orthodontics, Orthodontics: The Art and Science of Dentofacial Enhancement, Hellenic Orthodontic Journal and a member of the Editorial Advisor Board for Orthodontic ProductsOrthodontic Practice USOrthoTribune. He is co-author/editor of

the book: Mini-Implants in Orthodontics: Innovative Anchorage Concepts. Jay has used over 5000 miniscrews of 16 different types. He holds 2 U.S. Patents and over 150 articles published, has contributed to 16 book chapters, and has given over 150 lectures in over 38 U.S. States and 36 countries on 6 continents.

Jay has developed a number of orthodontic product concepts including the Butterfly Bracket System and v-slot auxiliaries, several TAD-based auxiliaries, Class II Combination Therapy, Bowman Modification and Horseshoe Jet (Distal Jet), Bowman Consolidator, Duralight Retention Material, Hu-Friedy Clear Collection, Monkey Hook and Kilroy Spring for impacted teeth, Aligner Chewies and Retainer Retrievers for Invisalign, WYRED cheek retractor, Double-Up, Quick Fix with SideSwipe, etc. Jay’s lectures are fast-paced, colorful, and entertaining and, as a result, he has been invited to return to lecture again by many organizations.
